NWE Signatures is the company I founded in 1993 as a
publishing consultancy. My work focused on implementing new publishing
technologies in various businesses, including insurance, retail, and
greeting cards. I also did a lot of consulting on the marketability and
competitive position of various desktop publishing and design software.
It was that which led me to Design Intelligence in 1996, where I stayed
until its acquisition by Microsoft. Although the business has been
active on and off over those intervening years, we (my wife and I) have
stopped consulting as our major form of employment.
Now I work for a giant software company and use NWE
Signatures as my creative outlet for writing and art. Here you will find
the stories that I write and links to my various blogs. You'll also find
what I've managed to post in the way of my sketches and a terrific
selection of photos from my deceased father-in-law's days as a salon
photographer.
I’ve been involved in writing, design, and publishing
for over 30 years, much of it researching and inventing ways to automate
chunks of the design process for electronic media. During the month of
November I participated in the National Novel Writing Month with the book Accidental Witness. I blogged the novel during November and you can read the blogged version or download a manuscript. You can also read last year’s NaNoWriMo entry Willow Mills, Indiana, which is still posted on my blog.
Enjoy the site and let me know if you have comments.
Thnx,
Nathan Everett
