The Salon Photography of Marshall SigfordThree years ago my father-in-law, Marshall Sigford, passed away and my wife and I became the temporary custodians of a large number of photos that he took as one of Minneapolis/St. Paul's select group of Salon Photographers, and as Photographer to the Admiral of the South Pacific during World War II. It is an incredible body of work that we'd like to share with more people, so I've dedicated this portion of my site to exposing his works. Some of his work is in the permanent collection of the Minneapolis Art Institute and others have been exhibited in various museums around the country. As time and space permits, I'll rotate pieces in and out of this display. Thanks to my brother-in-law George Olson for doing the digital photography of Marshall's work. Each piece is mounted on an 11x17 matte and I've attempted as much as possible to maintain the proportion in the background. To see a high-resolution copy of the work, click on the thumbnail.
